Moon (2009)
Sam Rockwell fer með einleik í myndinni Moon. Hann er einn á skjánum langmestanmeirihluta myndarinnar og þeir fáu (sjö) sem birtast yfir höfuð í myndinni eru samtals, líklega um eina og hálfa mínútu í henni. Myndin var skrifuð af Duncan Jones, sérstaklega með Sam Rockwell í huga. Duncan leikstýrði henni líka, og er þetta fyrsta kvikmynd hans í fullri lengd sem hann leikstýrir eða skrifar. Sam er sannfærandi í leik sínum sem geimfarinn Sam Bell, kannski eins gott því ég myndi ekki nenna að horfa á t.d. Matt Le Blanc einan í einn og hálfan tíma. Kevin Spacey hefur náttúrulega ekkert nema röddina til að tjá sig sem GERTY. Þar sem hann talar fyrir tölvu er takmarkað hvað hann getur beitt raddsviði sínu, því tölvur hafa ekki vinalega rödd, reiða, o.s.frv.
Að söguþræðinum. Myndin gerist árið 2130. Mannkynið er komið að þrotum varðandi orku þannig að einkarekið fyrirtæki sér jarðarbúum fyrir 70% af orkunni með því að vinna helíum3 úr yfirborði tunglsins og senda til jarðar. Sam Bell vinnur á geimstöð fyrirtækisins á tunglinu, einn, við það að fylgjast með bílunum sem vinna helíumið ásamt fleiru. Vaktirnar eru þrjú ár og byrjar myndin þegar u.þ.b. tvær vikur eru eftir af vaktinni hans Sams. Hann er orðinn pirraður á einangruninni og finnst þrjú ár vera of langur tími. Á þessum tíma fer hann að sjá ofsjónir og maður fær það á tilfinninguna að hann sé orðinn geðveikur. Eini félagsskapurinn er GERTY og öll samtöl sem Sam á við jörðina taka margar klukkustundir að berast fram og til baka. Látum þetta nægja af sögunni.
GERTY merkilegur karakter að mínu mati. Á einum tímapunkti í myndinni hafði Sam verið bannað að yfirgefa stöðina og á GERTY að sjá til þess að hann geri það ekki. Í raun stjórnar GERTY því hvort Sam komist yfir höfuð útaf stöðinni, því hann stjórnar því hvort hurðirnar opnast. Sam tekst samt að telja GERTY á að hleypa sér út til að athuga hvort ekki sé í lagi með stöðina. Það finnst mér skondin umhugsun. Tölvan er kóðuð til þess að fylgja skipunum en hlutverk GERTYs er fyrst og fremst að sjá til þess að Sam líði vel. Mér finnst eitthvað svo töff við það að hann hafi fengið tölvuna til að hunsa skipanir með því að rökræða við hann.
Moon er skrítin mynd og langdregin. Hún er samt sem áður töff, skemmtileg, áhugaverð og vel þess virði að sjá.
